TRANSLATION PRICING

Translation prices vary with quantity and difficulty. The following are guidelines to help evaluate the overall cost for a translation done by Hezee and they are not a guarantee of the translation price that will be quoted.

The primary factor in determining a translation price is the number of source words. The source language refers to a document's original language and the target language refers to the language into which the document will be translated.

As a general rule, when translating to French from English, the target word count will normally be about 20% higher than the source word count. Since I charge by the number of source words, the price for such a translation will be 20% lower than the same where a translator charges by the number of target words.

Translation pricing also depends on the level of complexity. For example, a general business letter (with non-technical terms) will be priced lower than a technical related text.

The best way to obtain a precise estimate for a translation is to send your document or a sample thereof by filling the quote form.

If only the number of pages is known, an assumption of the number of words per page is made.

These assume a one-inch margin all around the page, no figure, graphic or photo and a Courier #12 type face.

How to get the number of words in an MS Word document:

1. Open the document in Word
   
2. In the Tools Menu, click on Word Count.
   
3. The number of words obtained with this method is the usual count used to calculate the price. Special cases (repetitions) require a different method.

The total cost is calculated by applying a rate per word to the total number of words. This rate will vary with different factors such as the subject, the technical content, the overall difficulty level, as mentioned above.
